SHOPPING IN SYDNEY
Sydney and Melbourne are Australia’s top shopping and fashion destinations that attract a range of big-name fashion retailers such as TopShop, Zara, Myer and David Jones. It’s not only a place for mass-market international brands, here you can find clothing from up and coming designers, some of the best vintage stores the country has to offer and a range of specialists in shoemaking, jewellery making and tailoring.
Not only does Sydney stock a great range for shoppers, but it’s also a great place to attend clothing markets where you can find unique items, fashion festivals and new season launches.
The reason I love shopping in the CBD of Sydney City over any other Sydney shopping location is that you’ve got the following centres all within a short walk of each other:
– Westfield Pitt Street
– The Queen Victoria Building
– The Galleries
– The Strand Arcade
– The Mid-City Centre
– The Dymocks Building
– World Square
– The Chifley Tower
– St James Arcade
– The Picadilly Centre
I’ve not yet encountered a client that Sydney City’s shopping precinct couldn’t help me with. These include clients looking for maternity wear, suiting for both men and women, ethical clothing brands, formal wear and bridal brands, bargain hunters markets and pop-up shops, vintage and pre-loved clothing, international designers, mass-market brands and unique boutiques.
If you’re shopping with me, the easiest way home with your shopping will be by car, but if that’s not an option on the day, here’s what I recommend:
– Town Hall Station
– St James Station
– Wynyard Station
– Martin Place Station
There are bus stops on almost every street in the CBD but the closest to Pitt Street in the city are those on Castlereagh Street, Park Street and York Street.
When it comes to shopping in the city, nowhere is off-limits for my clients, your shopping destination should depend on your unique needs. Other shopping destinations I offer to clients are:
– Bondi Junction
– Broadway, Glebe
– Wollongong Mall
Keep in mind that the best client-only discounts and access to tailors is in Sydney CBD. I offer this destination to my clients not only for this reason, but the brands and stores in the city often have higher stock levels which limit the chance that a clothing size will be sold out and most stores carry the entire range of their collections as they’re considered A-Grade and flagship stores.
If you don’t mind not being able to use my full range of store and brand discounts, tailor or cobbler, we can shop where you please.
From where to find particular items to product reviews and shopping guides – have a poke around on the blog for my advice.
