Are You A Dark Autumn / Dark Warm Colour Type?
If your skin glows when you wear rich autumn tones like burnt orange, khaki green and dark chocolate, you might be a Dark Warm / Dark Autumn colour type. This is the darkest of the warm (Autumn) colour palettes. Your best colours sit between the Dark Cool and Warm Muted colour palettes, making your undertone neutral-warm.
I’ve designed this page to help you determine if you’re a Dark Autumn or Dark Warm colour type. This is just a guide, based off the most common Dark Warm features. With every colour type, there can be outliers and exceptions to the rule - if you feel you might be one, book a custom colour analysis and expand on your colour type with a bigger palette made just for you.
A Dark Autumn or Dark Warm person has dark hair and dark eyes that stand out in comparison to the rest of their features.
These features will outshine their undertone and their chroma. Those whose primary direction is dark will find that dark colours enhance their eyes and hair, while light colours wash them out.
Features of a Deep Autumn / Dark Warm person:
Your hair will be warm and dark. Think deep browns, chestnuts, warm black, warm black brown, deep auburn. In the sun, your hair might look a little more golden.
Your eyes are dark warm brown, red-brown, warm brown-black, in some cases they can be very dark warm green. They aren’t bright and cool.
Your features are high contrast. For people with light skin, your eyes and hair will be so dark that they stand out. For people with dark skin, your hair and eyes must still be very dark and the whites of your eyes and your teeth should stand out, giving you a higher contrast look.
Your skin will have golden or greenish undertones. You might find it hard to test your undertone, because you look neutral. It’s very common for dark colour types to get mixed up in the wrong undertone as both deep autumn and deep winter colour types have neutral leaning skin.
Gold vs Silver:
Dark Warm / Dark Autumn’s suit gold more than silver, because the gold harmonises with your naturally golden undertones, warm hair and eyes. If you test gold vs silver on yourself, you might like both, but gold will make your features stand out more.

If you suit a dark warm palette, you’ll find deep, rich warm colours to be your best colours. The colours that will drain your complexion most will be light and cool. Think of pastels and light powdery cool colours.
You might find white doesn’t look as good on you as ivory does. And black, while not bad, doesn’t look as good as dark brown or a dark warm charcoal.
