What To Wear With A Pleated Midi Skirt

what to wear with a midi skirt pinterest header

The pleated midi skirt is one of those garments I hear a lot of women say they can't wear. It's not an easy garment to try, especially if you've been told that they can make you look shorter or wider, or that you can only wear them with heels. Today we're chatting what to wear with a pleated midi skirt, how to wear one, where should a midi skirt hit and I've also made a video to go along with this post, so scroll down if you want to check that out.

Where on the waist do you wear the midi skirt?

Midi skirts are a longer style skirt, so to avoid making yourself look short or wide in the skirt you need to be wearing this skirt style on your high waist. It's a common thing I see amongst first-time wearers to wear these skirts on their mid-waist, and if it's a pleated midi-skirt, pleats coming from the mid-waist won't be as flattering.

Where should a midi skirt hit?

Midi skirts are called that because they're meant to hit mid-calf. Where you don't want your skirt to end is on the widest part of your calf, if you can find a skirt that ends just above or just below the calf - you'll have found a fabulous midi skirt. If it's your very first venture into wearing midi-skirts, see if you can find one with an asymmetrical hem on the bottom - these are what I consider entry-level midi skirts and are flattering for all shapes and heights.

Where should a midi skirt hit if you're petite?

I am so glad you asked because I see so many ankle-length midi skirts that just make me want to get the scissors out! If you are petite OR you're worried you're going to look short in your midi skirt, I have the cure. Your skirt should end just above the widest part of your calf.

Where should a midi skirt hit if you're tall?

For the leggy ladies, I understand that finding the right length garments can be really hard. Trust me, I have to look for these garments for my taller clients too. You're best to look for midi skirts that end just past the widest part of your calf. If you can't find one long enough, consider altering a maxi skirt to get your perfect length.
