And by fixer-upper-ers, of course we mean those little things you should pack to ensure your race day face is flawless.
Because I know you’ll have an effortlessly chic and completely amazing outfit sorted, the only thing you’ll need to worry about is makeup, so who better to share her helpful tips that Sydney and Illawarra based Makeup Artist, Liv Slee! TIP ONE: FIGHT SHINE WITH BLOTTING PAPER
“If you’re worried about shine control and don’t want to cake on the powder, try using a blotting paper instead. You can find them at most chemists, Priceline and beauty departments for only a few dollars. Just use one sheet at a time apply directly to the oily area and leave for 10-20 seconds. Then peel off. Don’t rub it over your skin or you’ll risk moving your makeup underneath.”
TIP TWO: FIND A LONG-WEAR CONCEALER
“If you’ve got a pesky zit to cover, try opting for a long wearing liquid concealer like Mac Pro Longwear Concealer. Its lightweight, has a wear time well over the length of your drinks and gambling calendar and it dries and sets to look just like skin.”
TIP THREE: KEEP THE CLUB MAKEUP FOR THE CLUBS
“The Races aren’t your opportunity to break out the gold shimmer eye shadow and navy liner combo you’ve been dying to test. The racing scene is all about understated beauty. So instead focus on achieving beautiful, natural skin. Add an accent where you like but just choose one, it’s the lips or the eyes, not both. You want spring racing carnival not My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding.
